Mark Poynton started his career aged 15 as a part-time waiter in Chester. Within six months he'd moved into the kitchen to start a remarkable journey that included eight-and-a-half years with two Michelin-starred Daniel Clifford, at Midsummer House, in Cambridge. Soon after, Mark took up his first head chef position, at Alimentum, guiding that to a Michelin star and three rosettes.
He decided to launch his own restaurant, MJP @ The Shepherds, at Fen Ditton, near Cambridge, taking the keys as the UK was in lockdown due to Covid-19.
