We really hate waste at Infusions. In the UK, an estimated 9.5 million tonnes of food and drink are discarded annually, most of which is still edible. Although much of this waste is due to food reaching its "best before" date.
It's important to understand that "best before" dates are related to the quality of food and not its safety. Even if the date has expired, the food may still be safe to eat, although it might have lost some of its flavour and texture. So, think carefully before throwing away food past its "best before" date.
