Lychees in Syrup
Tinned lychee in syrup brings the sweet, fragrant flavour of lychee to desserts, drinks and Asian-inspired recipes without the preparation of fresh fruit. Each peeled lychee has a juicy, tender texture and delicate floral sweetness, preserved in a light syrup ready to use straight from the tin.
Tinned lychees are particularly handy for cocktails, mocktails and desserts. Drain and add them to a fresh fruit salad, spoon over coconut panna cotta, pair with mango and passion fruit, or use them to bring a fruity twist to cheesecake and pavlova. The syrup can also be put to good use in drinks, adding sweetness and lychee flavour without needing a separate flavoured syrup.
At i4C, we love keeping a tin of lychees around for cocktails. They make an easy garnish that actually tastes good, particularly with gin, vodka, elderflower or sparkling drinks, and they're brilliant for adding something a little different to summer desserts.

Can you use the syrup from tinned lychees?
Yes. The syrup has picked up some of the fruit's distinctive floral character and can be incorporated into cocktails, mocktails, lemonades and dessert sauces. As it is already sweetened, taste your recipe before adding additional sugar or syrup.
What flavours pair well with lychee?
Lychee works particularly well with bright and aromatic flavours including lime, lemon, raspberry, rose, elderflower, coconut, mango, passion fruit and ginger. For drinks, it is commonly paired with gin, vodka, sparkling wine and sake.
How many lychees are usually needed for a cocktail?
One whole lychee makes an attractive garnish, while two or three can be muddled or blended when you want the fruit itself to contribute more flavour and texture. For a stronger lychee flavour, combining the fruit with a little of its syrup works particularly well.
