Premier Red Wine Jus

Essential Cuisine Premier Red Wine Jus 1.2kg is a premium concentrated red wine jus made with aromatic beef stock and Bordeaux-style wine, delivering rich, well-rounded flavour with minimal preparation. Designed to provide a professional-quality finish, it creates a smooth, glossy jus with a deep savoury taste, a luxurious mouthfeel and an impressive mirror-like sheen.

Perfect as a standalone red wine jus or as the foundation for your own signature sauces and reductions, this versatile concentrate pairs beautifully with beef, lamb, venison, duck and roasted vegetables. It also provides an excellent base for adding fresh herbs, shallots, mushrooms or peppercorns to create bespoke sauces for a wide variety of dishes.

Each 1.2kg tub produces approximately 8 litres of finished jus, making it a practical choice for busy kitchens where consistency, speed and flavour are essential. What makes a good red wine jus different from traditional gravy?

A red wine jus is lighter, smoother and more concentrated than traditional gravy. Rather than relying on flour for thickness, it focuses on rich stock, wine and natural reduction to create an intense flavour with a glossy finish that complements rather than covers the main ingredient.

Can I customise this red wine jus to create my own sauces?

Yes. This concentrated jus is an excellent base for building signature sauces. Try adding shallots, garlic, black peppercorns, wild mushrooms, rosemary, thyme or a knob of butter to create classic accompaniments for steaks, roasts and game dishes.

Which dishes pair best with red wine jus?

Red wine jus is traditionally served with beef, lamb, venison and duck, but it also works beautifully with roasted root vegetables, mushroom dishes and rich pies. Its balanced savoury flavour makes it one of the most versatile sauces for both everyday meals and special occasions.
