Flexible Turner

The De Buyer FK Officium 31cm Flexible Turner is a precision kitchen utensil designed for handling delicate foods with greater control. Its slim, flexible stainless steel blade slides neatly underneath food, making it particularly useful when turning omelettes, crêpes, pancakes, fish fillets and other dishes that can easily tear or break apart.

Made from high-quality X20 Cr13 stainless steel, the blade combines flexibility with strength and has a mirror-polished finish for smooth contact with food and added resistance to rust. The 7.8cm-wide blade also makes the turner useful for lifting portions cleanly from pans, trays and griddles, as well as for precise spreading when preparing pastries and desserts.

The handle is made from fibreglass-reinforced polyamide with an anti-slip carbon fibre texture, a thumb slot and finger stopper for a secure, comfortable grip.

Key Features:

  • Overall length of 31cm.
  • Blade measures approximately 7.8cm wide x 17cm long.
  • Manufactured from X20 Cr13 stainless steel.

Usage Ideas:

  • Use it to lift delicate fish fillets from a frying pan while helping to keep the fillet intact.

  • Use the flat, flexible surface for spreading fillings, creams or mixtures smoothly when preparing pastries, cakes and desserts.

Why is a flexible turner useful for delicate food?

A flexible blade can follow the shape of the pan and slide underneath delicate food with less force than a thick, rigid utensil. This gives you more control when lifting items that could otherwise tear, crumble or lose their shape.

What does X20 Cr13 stainless steel mean?

X20 Cr13 is a type of stainless steel valued for its combination of hardness, durability and corrosion resistance. These properties make it particularly useful for kitchen utensils that need to retain their shape while coping with regular use and cleaning.

What is the difference between a turner and a standard spatula?

A turner is specifically shaped for getting underneath food so it can be lifted, flipped or transferred. The term spatula covers a much wider range of utensils, including flexible scrapers and spreading tools, whereas a turner usually features a broad, relatively flat blade designed for pan and griddle work.
