Manuka honey is produced in New Zealand by bees feeding on the Manuka bushes that grow wild in both North and South island.
- “Active” Manuka has strong anti-bacterial properties and is rated as 5+, 10+, 15+, etc.
- The higher the rating, the greater the anti-bacterial effect of the honey.
- All honeys boast some level of antibacterial powers, but Manuka is accepted to contain properties that are superior to those found in other strains.
